Hole 1
The lovely opening hole offers a relatively gentle introduction to the course. A generous fairway makes the tee shot fairly straightforward. Longer hitters will want to take less club or stick to the left hand side of the fairway to avoid a bunker on the right. The green is arched, with a raised, centrally located, table-top section.
Introduction
Royal Wellington has five tee boxes on each hole Black, Blue, White, Green and Yellow so you can play the course commensurate with your enjoyment and playing ability. In addition there are composite courses that mix up some of the tees mentioned. Visitors often enjoy the Royal Wellington experience by playing two rounds during their visit using a different set of tees each time.
